A homemade mask based on natural bee honey will help you achieve a lifting effect without a scalpel. The combination of honey, life-giving egg, olive oil and grape seed oil is the perfect blend of minerals and vitamins that will rejuvenate you. It will also help you deal with the harmful effects of the sun on your skin.
Honey facial mask – perfect for mature skin
I have to admit something to you … I’m like Winnie the Pooh and I’d rather not part with a barrel of honey. I love its smell, taste and, above all, its soothing effect on my hair, lips and facial skin.
Although I still (!) Have no problems with wrinkles, I do my home cosmetic experiments on my mother’s skin. In this way, I want to check whether the nutritional properties of food praised by “naturalists” have such a good effect on mature skin. This time I decided to test the effects of honey in practice.
My mother is a (wonderful) woman over 50, gifted with a very delicate couperose skin. Unfortunately, many cosmetics, especially highly concentrated anti-wrinkle preparations, irritate and sensitize the skin. That is why I decided to convince her to the firming and lifting mask made of honey. None of its ingredients will make her allergic because she has already tested it in her daily diet.
I did not fail to check its operation myself. Once again, I came to the conclusion that the use of honey in facial care did not disappoint me. After removing the mask, the skin was visibly moisturized and toned. It also took on a healthy color.
A homemade face mask will be beneficial for all skin types, especially mature ones. Remember to do an allergy test at least one day before making the mask and check that each of its ingredients is safe for you!
How to do it? Apply the blended mask mixture to a small area of the skin on the neck behind the ear. If no undesirable symptoms have appeared after 24 hours, you can rest easy and go ahead and apply the mask to the whole face.
How to make a honey-based rejuvenating mask?
To make the mask, you will need:
- two medium-sized bowls,
- egg mixer or whisk.
Also, prepare the following ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of natural bee honey,
- 1 egg,
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of grape seed oil.
First, break the egg and separate the yolk from the white. Add 2 tablespoons of honey to the bowl with the egg yolk, and then, with vigorous movements, start mashing the substance until it is smooth. Add olive oil and grape seed oil. Mix everything thoroughly.
In the second bowl, beat the egg whites until foam. You can do this with a mixer or, if you want to exercise a little arms, beat it with a whisk. Then put the whipped foam into the yolk mass and gently, without breaking the consistency of the foam, mix them together.
Apply the mask to cleansed skin and leave it for 20-30 minutes. Then rinse it thoroughly with cool water. After making the mask, apply a nourishing cream to the skin.
What for skin in your forties?
Why can a homemade honey mask be called rejuvenating? Because each firmed, revitalized and well-moisturized skin becomes radiant and looks younger. That is why I did not refuse to put the remains of the mask on my face myself
Honey is a wealth of natural sugars (glucose and fructose), organic acids (lactic, gluconic, malic and citric acids) and elements such as iron, zinc and magnesium. Thanks to the hormones produced by bees, honey has antiseptic and antibiotic properties (it is bactericidal).
There are many types of honey: lavender, honeydew, acacia, buckwheat etc. It is worth knowing that each of them has slightly different nutritional properties.
Cosmetologists love honey for its nourishing properties, firming the skin, smoothing wrinkles and strong hydration (honey is a natural humectane – a substance that strongly moisturizes the skin from the inside). It also has a detoxifying effect.
Honey helps get rid of dead skin cells. As a result, the skin regains its healthy and natural color. Egg yolk is an ampoule of vitamins A, B and E, and the protein tightens (lifts) the skin and closes the pores. Oily ingredients not only moisturize it, but also create a natural protection for it in the form of a lipid coat.
My favorite – grape seed oil – kills free radicals and prevents skin aging. Moreover, it reduces the harmful effects of the sun on the skin. It also has a good effect on capillary skin, as it strengthens blood vessels and prevents the formation of spider veins (The best creams for couperose skin).
